Thomas Roberts creates photographic gems.
Not surprising, since the Yonkers, New York native says, “Jewelry was supposed to be my calling. I used to go down to the diamond district and buy the stones there.”
Later he enlisted in the Army and lived in Germany and Hawaii. In 1989, he was stationed in Georgia and took a second job working for a photographer. “He wasn’t trying to teach me. He wanted more somebody to do heavy lifting,” Thomas jokes. “I started trying to learn as much as I possibly could about it.”
