
The Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia recently announced “Finding the Freedmen’s Bureau Marriage Record Project” which will bring together people who are interested in African-American genealogy. The organizational meeting will be March 27, 10:30 am at the museum, 00 Clay St. This group will provide a forum for sharing knowledge of genealogical techniques and resources, and for interacting with others who have a passion for genealogy. New and experienced researchers welcome. Plans call for the group to become a chapter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, whose primary goals are to promote scholarly research, provide resources for historical and genealogical studies. www.aahgs.org
