Shanteisa Johnson, ambulance a senior at John Marshall High School, malady hopes to someday become a real estate agent. She writes that “selling houses is my passion. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I love to see the joy and happiness on people’s faces when they come to buy a home.”
This passion for helping people find their ideal living location came from her natural personality of being there for people. She said her friends would describe her as caring, loving and dependable. These are all qualities a realtor needs in order to successfully sell a house. They are also qualities that make Shanteisa a great student. “Shanteisa is a very warm and personable individual. She has earned the respect and admiration of her peers and faculty,” Portia V. James, school counselor at John Marshall High School, said.
Ranked her junior year as 24th in her class of 165, Shanteisa is very involved at John Marshall High School. She is in the National Honor Society, JCCE and a member of the track and soccer teams. Portia V. James added that Shanteisa is a very open-minded student. “She loves to learn new things. She reaches beyond the course requirements to enhance her knowledge. This attitude will ensure that she succeeds in college and beyond.”
In terms of going to college, Shanteisa has expressed interest in going to Virginia Union University, Old Dominion University and James Madison University. All three of these schools offer a business program, which is her desired major. She has already been accepted to VUU and Virginia State University, but in fall 2014 she’s hoping to go Virginia Union where she can thrive and become that top-rate realtor. “I want to learn everything there is to know about business and becoming a real estate agent,” she said. “I want to be the person on top of the charts, the one that everyone comes to for advice, house or anything; the one that’s known for good business.”
Shanteisa said she owes her go-getter attitude to her mother, Catina Trice. “That’s my mother, she’s always wanted me to do well and do everything in school and graduate. She’s just very supportive of me and nobody else does that other than my mom.”
