EGO, ed or Energy Gets Opportunity, advice is the slogan Glenn Proctor used for not only his career coaching business, buy cialis Reddjobb, but also to motivate his success and the release of his book of poems. “Kicking Bottles, News & Dust An Autobiography – 50 Years of Poems” is the first book of poems in the trilogy Proctor will write detailing his life.
Proctor is currently a motivational speaker, career adviser, and leadership trainer. He also served as a journalist, professor and even the first African American top editor for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. His experience as an editor of his own work, other journalists’ work, and his students’ work is what he said gave him the necessary skills to write and edit his book. “I’ve been editing for forever and that has helped me become a better writer,” Proctor said. Other than his work as a writer, he also served in the Vietnam War. He is a former Marine Corps gunnery sergeant and served six years on active duty and six years in the Marine Corps Reserve. Proctor said his book includes poems on his success within his careers, growing up as a foster kid, and even his problems with alcohol.
“I’ve been a professional mentor for hundreds and hundreds of people throughout my career and so I’m just sharing my life story,” Proctor said. “If some other person can feel like they read their story and I’m motivating them to do better, that’s the whole purpose.” President of Metropolitan Business League of Virginia, Oliver Singleton said, “Almost every poem resonates with me. They touch memories and experiences of my entire life and I expect the experiences of a lot of people like me.” Another reader, Roberta Sachs who is an Emmy Award winning journalist and the president of Oster Sachs Communications said, “(Glenn) Proctor’s piercing poetry celebrates life – from the loneliness of foster care to Vietnam, the newsroom and the executive suite. He tackles race, class, politics, family, war, addiction, and love with levity and wisdom.”
About a year ago he decided to write his autobiography of poems. Proctor said he has been writing poems for over 50 years, and as a lifelong poet, it was not hard to piece together the first book and that he has many more poems to write. In addition to the poems in the first book, he said the second one is already complete and he is working on the third. “I love words and putting words together as a poet, it’s not like being a novelist, you put a paragraph together in one verse,” he said.
“Kicking Bottles, News & Dust An Autobiography – 50 years of Poems” is available on Amazon.com in paperback for $11.58. His previously published e-book, “tweets, greets, sweets, & beets A GUIDE TO MANAGING EGO” is also available on the same website. Though he said his main focus at the moment is his trilogy, Proctor said he has also been working on a relationship book for many years and has been asked to write a book on management.
Proctor said he wants to be successful in whatever he does “whether it was as a marine, or whether it was as a reporter, or college instructor, or as an editor and top editor, I just wanted to be successful.”
