Gynecologic Cancers: Prevention and Screening

Five main types of cancer affect a woman’s reproductive organs — cervical, ovarian, uterine,
vaginal and vulvar. Although screening is only currently available for cervical cancer, other
prevention techniques may reduce the risk of gynecologic cancers in certain individuals.
RICHMOND, Va. (January 21, 2013) – VCU Medical Center will continue its
series of free educational seminars on current health care topics in February
and March. The following seminars will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at
the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s Education and Library Complex, 1800
Lakeside Ave. All of the seminars are free and open to the public, but
