In preparation for the upcoming flu season, diagnosis MARTIN’S Food Markets has begun offering flu vaccinations at all of their in-store pharmacies. No appointment is needed and vaccinations are provided by MARTIN’S trusted in-store pharmacists any time the pharmacy is open.
“Last year’s flu season was a particularly strong one and illustrated the importance of getting a flu shot annually,” said Leigh Shirley, director of pharmacy. “Flu vaccines are reformulated every year as the flu virus changes so just because you received a flu shot last year does not mean you are vaccinated for this year. Stop into any MARTIN’S pharmacy to receive your flu shot today.”
The cost for the flu shot is $30 and most major insurance plans, along with Medicare, are accepted. Customers with a MARTIN’S prescription savings card receive $10 off of the regular price of a flu shot. MARTIN’S has also partnered with various health-related vendors to offer a free coupon book worth more than $40 in savings, while supplies last, to all customers who receive a flu shot. In addition, MARTIN’S pharmacists are available to provide on-site flu clinics at workplaces and businesses throughout the community. For more information or to schedule an on-site flu clinic for your office, please call John Beckner at 804-239-2248.
As a full-service pharmacy, all MARTIN’S stores are taking steps to ensure its pharmacies and health departments are well stocked to handle flu-related prescriptions and over-the-counter medications throughout the fall and winter seasons. Additionally, MARTIN’S pharmacists offer several adult vaccinations, including those for pneumonia and shingles. No appointment is needed. Customers should free to stop in to speak with their friendly MARTIN’S pharmacist anytime with questions regarding medications, vaccinations or general health related questions.
