Boaz & Ruth, salve located in the Highland Park Community, treat will host its annual Discovering Diamonds Talent Search beginning July 11, 2013 at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its social enterprise, Harvest Thrift Furniture Store, located at 3030 Meadowbridge Road. There will be three opportunities to experience the talent from the Highland Park and surrounding community. Finalists will be awarded cash prizes.
“The Discovering Diamonds Talent Search is our way of intentionally focusing on capacity and gifts in a neighborhood characterized as crime ridden and lacking resources. Discovering Diamonds promotes individual and community pride, feelings of success, and a sense of safety that comes from gathering and participating in a shared positive experience.”, said Megan Rollins, Interim CEO of Boaz & Ruth.
Part II of the Discovering Diamonds Talent Search will be on Tuesday, August 6 at 6:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Ann Hardy Plaza Community Center, which is located at 3300 First Ave. In conjunction with hosting part II of the talent search, they will also celebrate the 30th Annual National Night Out. The festivities for the evening will begin at 4 p.m., free dinner provided at approximately 5:30 p.m., and part II performances starting at 6:15 p.m.
The Grand Finale of Discovering Diamonds Talent Search will be on Saturday, August 24. The time and location is to be announced.
