On Thursday, look June 20th, abortion the Richmond City Health District is conducting its first round of free school-required vaccinations for City of Richmond residents at the Immunization Clinic, help located at 400 E. Cary Street.
The Clinic on June 20th will operate 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., and will only offer Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) booster shots for students who will be entering the 6th grade. All rising sixth graders should be immunized prior to the first day of the 2013-2014 school year. Virginia law requires all students entering the 6th grade to have a booster to their diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus (DPT) immunizations or they will not be allowed to attend class.
The Health Department is encouraging parents with children who will be entering 6th grade to have their child vaccinated now to beat the rush and ensure that they will not have to miss the opening days of school. 6th graders will not be allowed to enter class until documentation showing that they’ve received their Tdap booster vaccination is provided to their school.
Dates of School Vaccination Clinics to be conducted by the Richmond City Health District are as follows:
- Thursday, June 20, 2013, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Tdap only)
- Thursday, July 18, 2013, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. (Tdap only)
- Friday, August 23, 2013, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Annual Back to School Clinic – all school required shots provided)
