The journey toward financial freedom truly begins when you can replace your need to feel secure with the desire and courage to embrace the unknown. Ironically, a life plagued by a pattern of financial failure can offer a strange sense of security: a person can predict his course of life. People tend to be more assured of their ability to fail than succeed. Basically, it is easier and takes far less energy to achieve failure than success.
For example, getting into credit card debt doesn’t take much thought at all. You just open your wallet, pull out the card and swipe. People are comforted by knowing what works despite the detrimental consequences. Often the road toward financial freedom is filled with ups and downs. As a result, people do not find comfort in pursuing the path to freedom because they can not always predict exactly what will happen day after day.
